I am a lady of a certain age with two fabulous granddaughters whom I completely adore. They seem to think I’m pretty amazing because I love playing computer games—and watching other people play them on YouTube and Twitch!
From History Degrees to Grand Strategy
I’ve been obsessed with fantasy and fictional worlds all my life, and I love making up stories and characters to populate them. Because I did my degrees in history, grand strategy games absolutely fascinate me. There is nothing quite like getting my hands dirty in the intricate political maneuvering of Crusader Kings.
My Gaming Journey: RPGs, MMOs, and Creative Sims
While traditional RPGs were an early favorite of mine, my gaming world changed in 2004 when I moved onto Final Fantasy XI, followed by its incredible successor, Final Fantasy XIV.
When I'm not exploring Eorzea, you can find me:
    • Telling rich stories about my characters in The Sims 4
    • Building massive wildlife sanctuaries in Planet Zoo
    • Flipping and decorating houses in House Flipper

Adapting, Ageing, and Staying in the Game
Sadly, I’ve had to accept that growing older means my eyes, hands, and coordination aren't quite what they once were. I can’t do some of the high-intensity activities, like raiding, that I used to love.
But losing a bit of reaction speed doesn't mean losing the passion. I am launching this blog to educate the wider gaming community and show them that just because some of us are ageing, we haven’t lost our absolute love for the genre.
